BeSmartee review

In short

BeSmartee is a Mortgage Point of Sale product. MortgageTechReview scores BeSmartee 4.3 out of 5.0, ranking BeSmartee #5 of the 22 products tracked in Mortgage Point of Sale Software, as of August 11, 2026. Scores on MortgageTechReview are weighted across five axes and are never paid for or influenced by a vendor relationship.

The verdict

Highly configurable POS, marketed as Bright POS. It moves a file from application to appraisal in minutes, using data pre-population and automated workflow. The most automation-heavy product in this group on the lender side. It ships a full MLO portal rather than a borrower-only front end.

How BeSmartee compares to Blend

Ranked first in POS

Blend currently scores highest in POS, so every other product in the category is compared against it here. That is a ranking on our published rubric rather than a recommendation, and it changes when the scores change. Category Leader

BeSmartee wins 1 of 5 axes against Blend, on the weight profile published for this category. Full head-to-head →

Where it wins

  • The deepest lights-out automation here: rules-driven credit pull, AUS triggering, instant conditional approvals, and initial disclosure generation across all 50 states.
  • Captures intent to proceed early in the flow, which is a direct and measurable pull-through lever.
  • Real-time product, pricing, and eligibility with accurate third-party fees surfaced to the borrower rather than estimated.
  • Workflows are configurable per lender rather than one-size-fits-all, and white-label down to URL, logo, and fonts.
  • Loan-level and user-level reporting that exports to a business intelligence platform.

Where it falls short

  • No dedicated mobile app. The experience is mobile-friendly web only. That is a real gap in a category where borrowers start on a phone.
  • Configuration depth means a longer setup and a need for someone who owns the workflow rules.
  • Pricing is entirely organization-dependent with nothing published.
  • Aimed at IMBs and banks with scale. A small broker shop will not use most of what it does.

4.4

Production impact

35% of score

Bright POS exists to delete the manual work between application and underwriting, and it does more of that than anything else at this tier. Rules-driven credit pull, AUS triggering, instant conditional approvals, initial disclosures across all 50 states. Intent to proceed is captured early, which is a direct pull-through lever. BeSmartee cites 91 percent conversion and 100 percent retention from 2020, both unchecked. The customer wall carries lenders of real size, including a large wholesale shop.

4.7

Functionality and depth

15% of score

Inside the point of sale, BeSmartee covers more ground than nearly anyone. Bright POS runs the retail borrower flow. Beam TPO gives wholesale lenders a broker-facing front end, so one vendor serves both channels. It is a full MLO portal, not a borrower-only front end. Real-time pricing and eligibility surface accurate third-party fees rather than estimates. FlashSpread reads financial statements. The one real hole is mobile: mobile-friendly web, no dedicated app.

4

Integrations and ecosystem

20% of score

The connections that carry the automation are working ones. Rules-driven credit pull, AUS triggering and initial disclosure generation across all 50 states only run if those feeds are live, and pricing and eligibility come back with real third-party fees rather than estimates. On documented partners, Encompass was announced in 2019 and Snapdocs in 2022. What is missing is a published list beyond those two, so a buyer on another origination system should ask for the current partner set in writing.

4.2

Adoption and support

20% of score

Customers stay. The retention figure is the company’s own, but repeat Tech100 wins and multi-year references point the same direction. Workflows are configurable per lender rather than one-size-fits-all, and that fit is what keeps people. It also costs you. Configuration depth means a longer setup and someone inside the shop who owns the workflow rules. BeSmartee publishes nothing on how long a rollout takes or who does the work.

4.2

Return on spend

10% of score

One contract covering retail and wholesale point of sale is a real cost argument. A dual-channel lender removes a second procurement, a second implementation and a second renewal. The automation between application and underwriting is where the labor saving sits, and it grows with volume. Pricing is entirely organization-dependent with nothing published, so a buyer cannot model the return before entering a sales cycle. A small broker shop will not use enough of it.

On price. Nothing is published. Requests route to a demo form or sales@besmartee.com. Assume quote-only enterprise contracting. Assume too that the configurability you are buying carries an implementation line item. Get that itemised in writing.
