Blend wins 4 of 5 axes. Same rubric, same weights, no sponsorships.

Where the mortgage revenue actually comes from

Blend booked $33.8 million in Q2 2026, up 7 percent. Mortgage Suite produced $19.2 million of that, or 57 percent. Consumer Banking Suite produced $12.2 million, or 36 percent. Blend is a bank platform that also sells mortgage software.

Blend guided Q3 revenue to a range of $31.5 million to $33.5 million. That points to a sequential decline. Blend has run several rounds of layoffs since its 2021 listing. Its market value was $437 million in April 2026, down from over $4 billion at IPO. BeSmartee is privately held and independent, and it splits attention differently. Bright POS sits beside Beam TPO for wholesale and FlashSpread for commercial credit.

The LOS names each vendor will not print

Blend’s public integration directory names three loan origination systems. They are Byte, Calyx Point, and Dark Matter Empower. Encompass is absent from that directory. Blend documents it separately, and announced a direct Blend-owned Encompass package in March 2025. That package covers disclosures and drops the Encompass plugin and SDK dependency.

MeridianLink appears on neither vendor’s integration pages. BeSmartee publishes no integrations directory at all, and its integrations URL returns a 404. Encompass appears in one BeSmartee collateral piece, and no other LOS is named. Ask BeSmartee for a written list of live LOS connections. Ask which of those connections are certified and which are custom builds.

Price, where neither vendor publishes a number

Neither publishes a dollar figure anywhere. Blend runs no pricing page. G2 lists five Blend editions, covering Mortgage, Home Equity, Close, Loan Officer Toolkit and Income Verification. Every one routes buyers to sales. BeSmartee publishes no editions and no price.

Ask both for cost per funded loan at your real volume. Ask for the annual minimum, the implementation fee, and the overage rate. Then ask what the minimum does if your volume falls 30 percent. Neither answer will appear on a website, so get it in the order form.

Uptime, where Blend shows work and BeSmartee shows none

Blend runs a public status page listing nine components. Those include LOS Integrations, Disclosures and Documents, and Blend Close. The page publishes no uptime percentage. A third party monitor has logged 181 Blend outages since February 2022.

That monitor recorded an 18 hour 20 minute warning on 10 August 2026. Blend’s own log ties that window to Encompass disclosure delivery errors. BeSmartee publishes no status page, and no monitor tracks it. Ask BeSmartee for 24 months of incident logs in writing.

Review counts too thin to settle anything

BeSmartee Mortgage POS carries 4.8 out of 5 on G2 from two reviews. Blend Mortgage Suite carries 4.1 from seven reviews. Nine reviews between them decide nothing. Neither score carries enough volume to move a purchase decision. Reference calls will tell you more than either rating. Ask each vendor for three reference lenders at your volume and on your LOS.

Claims with no method behind them

Blend states 16 hours saved per loan and 33 percent loan volume growth. No sample, period or baseline is published. These are vendor stated and unverified. Blend says Autopilot became commercially available on 1 July 2026 after more than 25,500 production loans.

BeSmartee publishes no numeric outcome claims for Bright POS. In June 2025 it said a configurable SaaS model cuts implementation from months to weeks. No before and after data supports that. It is vendor stated and unverified.

Which one to pick

A bank or credit union running deposits, consumer loans and mortgage should shortlist Blend. One vendor across both suites cuts integration work and vendor management. A mortgage lender that also runs a wholesale channel should shortlist BeSmartee. Bright POS and Beam TPO come from one vendor and one roadmap. Both choices trade breadth against focus.

Ask Blend what uptime percentage it will commit to contractually, and what credit applies when it misses. Ask BeSmartee to name every LOS it is live on today, with lender counts on each.

This score rests on evidence anyone can check. It also rests on the vendor's own documentation, pricing, integration pages, and ownership records. We do not claim to run every product ourselves. Nobody can. The rubric was published before this review existed. The vendor did not write this, and no vendor can buy a word of it. Every product in this category is weighted the same way.
