Bundled engine against a Zillow-owned distribution play
MeridianLink folds PriceMyLoan into its mortgage LOS and markets it without a separate engine fee. Mortech sells a standalone engine owned by Zillow Group. The buying question is whether pricing should sit next to your origination data or next to your rate tables. Cost per lock and lead conversion pull in different directions here.
Both vendors serve agency and jumbo product well. Neither is positioned around private credit or investor property lending. So this comparison turns on workflow placement and distribution, not on product coverage.
What PriceMyLoan does inside the MeridianLink stack
MeridianLink’s FAQ describes PriceMyLoan as underwriting, product pricing, closing cost fee generation and margin management in one tool. The company claims higher pull-through, shorter cycle times and fewer buybacks. No method sits behind those numbers, so treat them as vendor stated.
On 4 August 2026 MeridianLink released in-application product and pricing views for mortgage originators. That release also flagged a document agent for mortgage targeted at late 2026. Pricing work continues inside the origination workflow rather than as a separate console.
Mortech sells pricing and consumer rate distribution together
Mortech describes best execution pricing across supported investors, with lock workflows and live MI quoting. Change in circumstance historical pricing reprices a locked loan against its own history. That calculation accounts for investor price, lender margin, LLPAs, loan officer comp, service release premium and APOR.
The secondary desk gets a centralized lock pipeline and a handoff into third-party hedging partners. Mortech also pushes live offers into consumer marketplaces. Named outlets include Zillow, Trulia, LendingTree, Bankrate, NerdWallet and Credit Karma. MeridianLink publishes no comparable rate table distribution for PriceMyLoan.
Integration lists are the sharpest contrast here
Mortech publishes a long named partner page. Its LOS column lists Ellie Mae, Calyx, BYTE, Integra and LendingPad. Newer names appear too, including Vesta, Blend, BeSmartee, Maxwell and nCino. The CRM column lists Total Expert, Surefire, Jungo, Bonzo, Relcu and Tabrasa. Six mortgage insurance providers appear, and correspondent and wholesale investors are named on a separate public page.
MeridianLink cites open APIs into hundreds of partners but names none for PriceMyLoan specifically. For a lender running a Total Expert or Surefire motion, that gap matters at contract time. Ask MeridianLink for a written integration list before signing anything. A bundled engine that cannot reach your CRM will cost you speed to lead.
Roadmap signals a buyer should check
MeridianLink went private under Centerbridge on 24 October 2025 in a $2.0 billion deal. Larry Katz took over as chief executive on 1 October 2025. The company kept announcing product work through the summer of 2026, including a Credit Mountain acquisition in August.
Mortech’s public signals run quieter. Its blog’s most recent post is dated 25 April 2022. Its news page carries headlines without dates. The site footer reads 2026 and the investor page says new investors are constantly added. That mix suggests a maintained product with little public marketing.
Pricing, contracts and what to ask for
Neither company posts a rate card. A third-party listing on Software Advice shows MeridianLink Mortgage starting at $20,000, with pricing available on request. That is not a MeridianLink published figure. Mortech gives a phone number and nothing else on cost.
Ask MeridianLink what PriceMyLoan costs if you ever leave its LOS. Ask Mortech for per-user and per-lock terms, plus any separate fee for rate table distribution. Get both to commit in writing to morning rate sheet load times. Review data will not settle this. MeridianLink Mortgage shows 4.1 from 36 reviews on G2, and Mortech’s G2 entry shows no score.
Which one to pick
A bank or credit union running MeridianLink Mortgage end to end should use PriceMyLoan. Paying twice for pricing is hard to defend on a shrinking margin. A consumer-direct lender buying leads off rate tables should look hard at Mortech. The Zillow distribution loop is the reason to be there.
Ask MeridianLink for the named list of investors PriceMyLoan prices today. Ask Mortech which pricing engine features shipped in the past twelve months, with dates.
