Two different bills for the same lock
MeridianLink markets PriceMyLoan as a no-fee engine built natively inside its own loan origination system.
Lender Price sells a standalone engine that many origination systems can call.
That structural difference drives most of the cost per lock arithmetic.
A bundled engine folds pricing into the LOS contract and into the LOS renewal.
A standalone engine keeps the line item separate, portable and negotiable.
Any lender expecting to change origination systems should weigh that portability hard.
What each engine is built to price
Lender Price describes itself as a cloud-native, AI-driven engine for banks, credit unions, wholesale lenders and servicers.
Its range covers an enterprise engine, a FLEX non-QM engine, CorrX for correspondent flow, and a broker marketplace.
The company site claims over $300 billion in locked volume and more than 400 customers.
It also claims support for more than 130,000 loan products.
Those figures are vendor stated and unverified, with no published method behind them.
PriceMyLoan prices mortgage and other consumer products from inside MeridianLink Mortgage.
MeridianLink publishes no standalone product page for the engine, which limits what a buyer can compare on paper.
Ownership moved under one of them
Centerbridge Partners took MeridianLink private on 24 October 2025 at $20.00 per share.
The deal valued the company at $2.0 billion.
Larry Katz became chief executive on 1 October 2025, succeeding Nicolaas Vlok.
Executive turnover continued after the close.
Co-founder Tim Nguyen moved to a strategic advisor role.
A chief revenue officer and a chief transformation officer were named on 1 July 2026.
MeridianLink closed its Credit Mountain acquisition on 31 July 2026.
Lender Price has stayed private and far quieter about capital.
Dawar Alimi is chief executive, and the last disclosed raise dates to 2017.
Integration reach and one awkward overlap
Lender Price has announced integrations with Byte, Encompass, LendingPad, Constellation, Vesta and LendingTree.
It runs no integrations directory, so buyers must assemble the list from press releases.
MeridianLink lists Lender Price as a marketplace partner integrated with MeridianLink Mortgage.
A MeridianLink shop can therefore run either engine against the same origination system.
That undercuts any argument that the bundled engine is the automatic answer.
What neither vendor prints on a price page
Neither company publishes a rate card.
MeridianLink says PriceMyLoan carries no fee, which pushes cost into LOS licensing instead.
Ask MeridianLink for the LOS quote with and without the engine switched on.
Ask Lender Price for per-lock and per-seat pricing, plus annual minimums and overage terms.
Also ask both for the cost of adding a channel mid-term.
Then model fully loaded cost against your expected annual lock count.
Proof a buyer can actually check
Independent review coverage is thin on both sides.
Lender Price appears in the G2 loan pricing category with no rating and no reviews.
Capterra shows MeridianLink Mortgage at 4.5 across 15 reviews.
That listing covers the origination system, not the pricing engine on its own.
Neither vendor publishes uptime or pricing latency figures.
Request 90 days of uptime logs and median response times under peak load.
Ask each vendor for two references that went live within the past year.
Where each one earns its keep
PriceMyLoan suits a bank or credit union already committed to MeridianLink Mortgage.
Pricing several product types inside one system cuts vendor count and reconciliation work.
Lender Price suits shops with heavy non-QM, correspondent or wholesale volume.
Marketplace additions through 2025 and 2026 leaned toward non-QM, reverse and asset depletion sellers.
Margin frequently lives in exactly those products.
Pull-through on niche programs depends on eligibility rules the agency engines handle poorly.
Broker-facing distribution is a further reason lenders choose a standalone engine.
Which one to pick
A credit union on MeridianLink Mortgage with mostly agency volume should keep PriceMyLoan.
A wholesale or non-QM lender pricing hundreds of niche programs should shortlist Lender Price.
Ask MeridianLink which consumer loan types PriceMyLoan prices without custom build work.
Ask Lender Price to name every LOS with certified bidirectional lock write-back.
Then price both against your real annual lock volume.
