Software that orders against a company that delivers

Reggora sells the rails. Clear Capital sells the report. Reggora describes itself as an appraisal management software company. It connects lenders to appraisal vendors and positions itself as a two sided platform. Clear Capital is a licensed appraisal management company with nationwide coverage. A lender running Reggora still needs appraisers or AMCs sitting behind it. Clear Capital can be one of those vendors. The two products can live in the same stack without conflict.

What Reggora actually runs

Reggora handles ordering, borrower fee collection, scheduling, status and review. Algorithmic ordering routes work across the vendor set a lender has assembled. Reggora launched an AI appraisal review product on 28 June 2023. The review engine flags inconsistencies and handles bias detection with context awareness. Rule sets are described as adjustable to investor guidelines. The company has stated a target of two day appraisal turn times. That is a stated goal rather than a published result.

What Clear Capital actually runs

Clear Capital fulfils orders and sells valuation data. Appraisal lines include traditional, desktop, hybrid and flex. Hybrid appraisal is described as up to 50 percent faster than traditional. Universal Data Collection carries a stated three day average turn time. ClearAVM, Rental AVM and ClearProp cover automated valuation. CDA and AURA cover appraisal review. Clear Capital reports more than 20,000 real estate experts nationwide. It reports more than 6 million valuation transactions each month.

The repurchase warranty changes the risk maths

On 16 October 2024 Reggora added a repurchase and LLPA adjustment warranty. It covers financial loss from an appraisal defect on reports its review technology clears. Reggora says roughly 70 percent of a lender appraisal volume qualifies. Dollar limits and exact triggers were not published. The stated effect is removing manual underwriting review on most files. Clear Capital sells review products but publishes no equivalent indemnity. Ask Reggora for the warranty contract and the full exclusion list.

LOS reach and GSE readiness

Both vendors sit inside Encompass. Reggora signed an enterprise agreement with ICE Mortgage Technology on 12 April 2022. That covers Encompass and LO Connect across retail, wholesale and consumer direct channels. Reggora integrated with BytePro from Byte Software in April 2019. Clear Capital lists its residential valuation products on Encompass Partner Connect. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac verified the Clear Capital UDC solution against UPDR in June 2026. Reggora publishes no complete named integration list on its own site. ValueLink names Reggora among the ordering platforms it connects to.

Balance sheet and backing

Reggora raised 30 million dollars in a Series B round on 12 January 2021. Spark Capital headed the round, joined by Boston Seed, 1984, Shine Capital and Greenpoint Partners. Total capital raised was given as more than 45 million dollars. No later round has been announced since then. GTCR took majority ownership of Clear Capital on 8 July 2025. Clear Capital bought Restb.ai, announced 12 May 2026, and CubiCasa in 2021. It cut 27 percent of staff in October 2022 and 24 percent in January 2023.

Pricing is opaque on both sides

Neither company publishes a rate card. Reggora has no pricing page on its site. Clear Capital publishes none either. Ask Reggora for platform fee, per order fee and the payment processing take rate. Ask Clear Capital for per product fees across every appraisal line. Compare both against current cost per closed appraisal and current revision rate. Ask each for a written turn time commitment measured by state and product type.

Which one to pick

A lender running its own panel and AMC relationships should buy Reggora. The warranty and the Encompass path attack underwriting cost directly. A lender that wants appraisals handled end to end should buy Clear Capital. One vendor then covers fulfilment, review and automated valuation. Ask Reggora which appraisal defects fall outside the repurchase warranty. Ask Clear Capital for turn time and revision rate by state on your volume.

This score rests on evidence anyone can check. It also rests on the vendor's own documentation, pricing, integration pages, and ownership records. We do not claim to run every product ourselves. Nobody can. The rubric was published before this review existed. The vendor did not write this, and no vendor can buy a word of it. Every product in this category is weighted the same way.
