NovaPrime review
NovaPrime is a Mortgage AI & Automation product from Independent. MortgageTechReview scores NovaPrime 2.8 out of 5.0, ranking NovaPrime #22 of the 33 products tracked in Mortgage AI & Automation Software, as of August 11, 2026. Scores on MortgageTechReview are weighted across five axes and are never paid for or influenced by a vendor relationship.
Novaprime came out of stealth in October 2024 aiming at the back half of the loan. It automates what it counts as 15 to 20 manual touchpoints per file, insuring through investor delivery. The design posture is deterministic and auditable rather than generative, the correct stance for an examined stage. The infrastructure is unusual, running on Digital Asset's Canton Network, with Freddie Mac approval and an announced Tradeweb collaboration. Where your loss sits decides it: this does nothing for origination speed and much for post-close and secondary. The limits are age and evidence, since no LOS integration is named and no customers are disclosed.

Where it wins
- Targets insuring, quality control, secondary marketing and investor delivery, which most AI vendors skip
- Approved technology provider with Freddie Mac, with a marketplace product integrated
- Tradeweb collaboration signals secondary market reach beyond the agencies
- Deterministic, auditable design fits work where every decision must be explainable later
Where it falls short
- No LOS integration is named in any public material
- Out of stealth only since October 2024, with no customer names published
- Canton Network adds an infrastructure dependency most lender technology teams have never assessed
- All efficiency claims are the company's own, with no third-party measurement or award
Why it scores 2.8
Scored on the AI & Automation weight profile. The number shows where it sits in this category. It rests on evidence anyone can check, including the vendor's own record. The weights →
Production impact
40% of scorePost-close and delivery are where files quietly sit for days, and automating insuring through delivery attacks a stage with poor visibility and real carry cost. The company counts 15 to 20 manual touchpoints per file, plausible for a shop still working these steps by hand. But nobody outside Novaprime has published a result, every efficiency claim is the company’s own, and the gain is bounded by how much of your cycle time actually sits after closing.
Functionality and depth
15% of scoreCoverage across insuring, quality control, secondary marketing and investor delivery is coherent rather than scattered, and the Freddie Mac marketplace integration shows the delivery end is built rather than planned. Deterministic logic over generative output is a deliberate constraint that suits work where every decision must be explainable later. The product has been out of stealth only since October 2024. Edge case handling across investor requirements is unproven, and anyone wanting free-form document handling will find this narrow.
Integrations and ecosystem
20% of scoreFreddie Mac approval plus a Tradeweb collaboration reaches the two counterparties that matter most on delivery, which beats a generic API story. The gap is upstream. Nothing connects this to an origination system, so how loan data arrives is publicly undefined. Building on Digital Asset’s Canton Network also adds an infrastructure dependency most lender technology teams have never assessed. That needs its own diligence before the product diligence starts.
Adoption and support
15% of scorePost-close teams are small and specialized, so rollout is narrower and easier than a fulfillment-wide change. That is the one thing working in its favor. The company is barely out of stealth since October 2024, publishes no customer names, and gives no outside signal on implementation quality or responsiveness. Insist on speaking to a production reference rather than a pilot, and expect that request to be hard to satisfy.
Return on spend
10% of scoreThe addressable saving is real and confined to a stage that employs fewer people than fulfillment, which caps the return for most lenders. On top of that sits undisclosed pricing, a vendor with no public customers, and a novel infrastructure layer your technology team has to assess before anything runs. Risk-adjusted, that lands well behind products attacking origination cost. This is where a young company with no public customers pays the most.
On price. Nothing published. Ask whether it is per loan or subscription. Ask what the Canton Network dependency means for hosting and data residency. Ask what happens contractually if Freddie Mac approval or the Tradeweb arrangement changes.
